26th Vancouver Geotechnical Society Symposium
on Site Characterization

The 26th Vancouver Geotechnical Society Symposium will take place on May 31, 2019 at the Pinnacle Hotel and focus on the topic of Site Characterization.

Call for Abstracts:

  • Abstracts are called for papers which discuss field investigation, modeling, design, construction, case histories, and any submission which may be relevant to site characterization. Abstracts should be less than 500 words and sent to the Symposium Co-Chairs by February 16, 2019. Acceptance of the abstracts will be within a week of receiving them. Final manuscripts must be completed at least 3 weeks before the Symposium date. We also invite submissions concerning any engineering activity of particular interest in the Lower Mainland.

Anticipated Program:

  • A Keynote lecture by Jason DeJong of UC Davis who will present on integrated site characterisation and EGBC’s dam foundation guidelines.

  • Technical sessions that see the presentation of 6 to 10 papers.

  • A panel discussion featuring the keynote speakers and local experts.

  • Geotechnical suppliers trade show exhibition.

  • Continental breakfast, lunch, and two coffee breaks provided.
